Teaching Pastor
Nate Wheeler
Nate Wheeler was raised in a preacher’s home of Bruce & Darlene Wheeler. This was where he learned the love of the Bible. At a young age, he decided to go into ministry. In 1992, Nate started at BBC and graduated BBC in 1997 with a BA in Biblical Studies. He met his wife Tami (Martin, ‘95) while at BBC. They moved to Cincinnati in 1997 in order for Nate to pursued a Masters of Divinity in Old Testament. He graduated CBS in 2000 and moved back to Idaho to serve at Eagle Christian Church. This experience launched him into helping other churches in the West. He worked with other church plants, 3 church planting organizations and networked with scores of church planters. Nate then decided to work with his mom in real estate in 2006. He has been working in real estate and commercial construction since 2006.
Nate’s desire to serve in churches never died. He has taught Old Testament and the Hebrew language in both colleges and a university. He preaches in several churches, chapels and leads a weekly Bible study.
Nate was commissioned as an Army Reserve Chaplain in 2019. He serves with his reserve unit in Boise, ID. In 2024-2025 his unit served overseas in Afghanistan.
Nate and Tami celebrated 29 years of marriage in August. They have 3 adult children, Sam, Shawn, and Bethany.
Although Nate lives in Boise, he pops in from time to time to share his heart—and when he does, you can feel his genuine love for people and passion for God’s Word. His messages are both encouraging and deeply rooted in Scripture to challenge you.
He has a gift for teaching and a way of making everyone feel seen and valued. Whether he’s preaching, praying, or simply catching up with folks after service, Nate’s presence always brings a sense of warmth and spiritual refreshment.
